Dong Ding Oolong Tea

Dong Ding is a mountain in Nantou county Lugu area (Deer Valley). Dong Ding means "Frozen Summit." Dong Ding Oolong is 30-50% oxidized and then heavily baked for an extended period of time. As a result, it has a darker color. The first tea planted in Dong Ding was in 1855, and it has become one of the most famous teas exported from Taiwan. The popularity for Dong Ding is vast and the demand is larger than the possible production in Lugu. Today Dong Ding Oolong refers more to the method of oxidation and baking in accordance to the original artisan crafted Oolong developed in Lugu. Our Dong Ding Oolong tea is grown in Lugu. The heavy baking process brings out Dong Ding's ripe fruity aroma. It has a full-bodied sweet taste. If you want to have a full mouth flavor, Dong Ding is the right choice.

Li Shan Oolong Tea

Li Shan translates to "Pear Mountain". Our Li Shan tea farm is located at an altitude of 8,600 ft (2,600 m), shown in the bottom picture. At such a high altitude, our tea farm is constantly emerged in low clouds and fog. This provides considerable moisture to the tea plants. The temperature difference between day time and night time can be as much as 35 degrees F (20 degrees C), which provides warm and cool air to the tea plants. This causes the tea to grow slowly and produces plants with leaves that are robust, thick, and soft. Our Li Shan Oolong tea is fragrant because the tea leaves are harvested when the essential oils of the tea are the strongest. Its taste is mellower than green tea due to its oxidation. Its flavor is refreshing and rich. It provides a strong taste in the beginning with a lingering hint of sweet finish in your mouth and throat in the end. Our Li Shan tea farm is one of the few high mountain tea farms in Taiwan at such high altitudes. Because of the high altitude of our tea farm, the quality of our Li Shan Oolong tea is higher, so is the demand, but the production quantity is limited. As a result, Li Shan Oolong tea is a little more expensive.

Shan Lin Xi Oolong Tea

Shan Lin Xi translates to "Pine Forrest Stream". Our Shan Lin Xi tea farm is located on a steep hill at an altitude of 6,000 ft (1,800 m), shown in the bottom picture. The area is a beautiful forest of pine trees and bamboos and running rivers that enhance the environment for tea production. The temperature is cool. Direct sun light only lasts for brief periods of time throughout the day. Fog covers the hills and tea farms for the rest of the time. These conditions ensure that the tea grows slowly to produce full plants with leaves that are robust, thick, and soft. Shan Lin Xi tea quality is above the average tea in Taiwan due to the superior growing conditions at higher altitudes. Our Shan Lin Xi Oolong tea has an exquisitely smooth taste. It is refreshing and provides a cleansing effect to the palate. It has a light floral aroma and a hint of crisp and sweet flavor. It also has a unique dry after taste that lingers in your mouth and throat.
